On My Wedding Morning, My Mother Called and Told Me to Run—Then I Discovered What My Fiancé Had Planned for Me

“We’ll arrange it properly.”

For the first time that morning, I felt something other than fear.

I felt a small part of my strength returning.

Part 4 — The Wedding Celebration Without the Bride
By late afternoon, the luxury hotel’s ballroom was filling with guests.

I watched the security feed from a private meeting room upstairs.

The event that Derek had described as a reception for investors had become something else entirely.

The floral arrangements were still in place.

A towering white cake stood near the stage.

Guests in evening gowns and expensive suits moved between tables covered in white linen.

But there was no mention of me on the large screen above the stage.

Instead, a banner welcomed everyone to the next chapter of Vantage Labs.

Derek stood beneath it wearing a tailored tuxedo.

Sienna was beside him.

She wore a white silk gown.

Her pregnancy was obvious.

I stared at the screen, feeling a dull ache in my chest.
