Judge Morrison examined the document.
Whitman reviewed his copy.
Then the judge looked toward my father.
“Mr. Parker, when you testified that your daughter changed the locks, what was the basis for that
statement?”
Dad cleared his throat.
“Well, the locks were changed.”
“That wasn’t my question.”
My father’s face tightened.
“We went there, and things were different.”
“Did anyone at the facility tell you your daughter had ordered the locks changed?”
“No.”
“Did you have documentation connecting her to that decision?”
Dad hesitated.
“No, but—”
“Thank you.”
Judge Morrison returned to his notes.
I continued.
“The facility also maintained visitor records.”
I introduced the relevant pages.
There was a long pause while the judge reviewed them.
He compared the dates with the timeline in my parents’ complaint.
I had highlighted the periods when my mother claimed she’d been unable to visit.
The records showed visits before and after those periods.
