My 13-year-old son sold his beloved guitar to buy a new wheelchair for a girl in his class

“I know where your guitar is.”

Part 2 — The Man Who Bought the Guitar
For a moment, Julian seemed to forget everything else.

“My guitar?”

Rebecca nodded.

“How could you know where my guitar is?”

She looked embarrassed.

“Because my brother bought it yesterday.”

Julian stared at her.

The revelation was so ordinary compared with sabotaged wheelchairs and mysterious charity records that nobody spoke for several seconds.

Then Maya said, “Okay. That’s weird.”

Rebecca almost smiled.

“It gets slightly weirder.”

I pulled out a chair.

“At this point, I think we should all sit down.”

Her brother, Rebecca explained, owned a small music shop called Sloan & Sons on the other side of town. Julian had taken the guitar there after school.

“I didn’t know that was your shop,” Julian said.

“It isn’t mine. It belonged to my father. My brother runs it now.”

“How did you know it was mine?”
