“And through her… unto eight-year-old Clara!”
Ms.
Harrow backed away from the lectern until her spine struck the whiteboard:
*SLAM.*
The red dry-erase marker in her pocket fell, rolling across the floorboards:
“No…”
Ms.
Harrow whimpered, shaking her head frantically: “No!
Staff Sergeant Reed is an enlisted dog handler!
His wife is an administrative clerk at the naval hospital!
They live in base housing!”
“Staff Sergeant Reed is an active-duty MARSOC Raider assigned to the Special Operations Security Directorate,” Captain Morales revealed, her voice colder than an Arctic blizzard:
“And Clara’s mother?”
Captain Morales unsealed the personnel dossier:
“Clara’s mother is **Colonel Lauren Eleanor Mercer-Reed**.”
“Director of Special Infrastructure Interdiction, United States Army Special Operations Command.”
“Master Chancery Auditor for the Department of Defense.”
“And the registered fee-simple custodian of Conduit Ten!”
Cooper took a step forward, his voice rising in clinical, devastating intensity:
“You didn’t throw Clara’s project into the trash can because you doubted her grammar, Ms.
Harrow.”
“You threw that blue folder into the trash can because inside that report, Clara had written down the exact operational coordinates of Valve Station Ten!”
The classroom gasped.
Cooper pointed his pen toward the blue folder Ben Reed held in his left hand:
“Two weeks ago, your great-uncle, former Chief Justice Arthur Sterling-Vance, ordered you to verify whether the Mercer family had active security surveillance over the Camp Pendleton sector.”
“You assigned this ‘Real-Life Hero’ project specifically to elicit intelligence from an eight-year-old child!”
“When Clara interviewed her father, Ben Reed gave her the simplified coordinates of the surface ventilation shaft to test your reaction!”
“You saw the words *PNEUMATIC ESCROW* and *CRYOGENIC MANIFOLD* on page three!”
“You realized that an eight-year-old child had just documented a Top Secret Continuity-of-Government defense bedrock on public school paper!”
Cooper bared his teeth in a razor-thin, cold line of white bone:
“You threw that folder into the trash can to hide the evidence!”
“You forced that child to stand before her peers and read that humiliating apology to discredit her testimony!”
“Because under Clause Fourteen of the 1944 Charter:”
“If an active commissioned lineal custodian’s domestic issue is certified by a state educational authority as mentally unreliable, prone to confabulation, and unable to verify sovereign documentation before the expiration of the statutory seventy-year spendthrift restriction…”
“…the underlying sixty-billion-dollar sovereign defense title defaults automatically to the corporate factoring syndicate as statutory conservators for the court!”
“Tonight is the statutory deadline, Ms.
Harrow!”
Cooper checked his watch:
“Midnight, October second, twenty-twenty-six!”
“You were deployed to Room Three-B twelve years ago by **The Valkyrie Trust** in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, to act as a deep-cover domestic sleeper agent!”
“You were waiting for the Mercer children to enter this school!”
“And at zero-two-hundred hours tonight in Washington…”
Cooper’s voice dropped into a terrifying, sub-zero register:
“…your great-uncle, Chief Justice Arthur Sterling-Vance, was scheduled to convene an extraordinary emergency midnight session of the Supreme Court to execute the master conveyance deed—transferring forty miles of nuclear defense bedrock to The Valkyrie Trust for sixty billion dollars in carried interest!”
