Some people find purpose through faith or spiritual practice. Others find it through art, nature, education, family, or service.
There is no universal answer.
The important thing is to have reasons to engage with the world, even when those reasons are small.
A person who spends an hour tending plants may experience satisfaction from watching them grow. Someone who teaches a grandchild to cook may find meaning in passing on a family tradition. Another person may enjoy learning a language or helping a neighbor with a practical task.
These moments may not look extraordinary from the outside, but they can contribute to a sense of belonging and fulfillment.
Finally, remember that the future is not completely under your control.
People can make
sensible decisions and still experience illness, financial setbacks, bereavement, or unexpected changes. A difficult period does not mean that they have failed to prepare properly.
Likewise, a person who faces significant challenges may still experience love, joy, purpose, and meaningful relationships.
