“What is it?”
“Evelyn wasn’t acting alone.”
Silence filled the room.
The detective explained that financial investigators had discovered several large wire transfers from Evelyn’s accounts to a former physician who had been involved in Daisy’s early medical evaluations.
The investigation immediately reopened.
When police searched the doctor’s home and office, they uncovered falsified medical records and altered laboratory reports. The evidence showed that he had deliberately manipulated Daisy’s test results, convincing every specialist that she suffered from a rare inherited eye disease while the poison slowly did its work.
Eventually, the doctor confessed.
Evelyn had promised him five million dollars in exchange for falsifying the diagnosis and ensuring no one questioned Daisy’s mysterious condition.
The case quickly became national news, exposing one of the largest medical corruption scandals in recent history.
The doctor was sentenced to prison and permanently lost his medical license.

A Letter from the Past
About a year later, Gregory received a letter from the law firm that had managed his late wife’s estate.
While organizing old legal documents, the attorneys had discovered a handwritten letter she had left behind.
Gregory unfolded it with trembling hands.
It read:
«”If you’re reading this, then I’m no longer with you. Please take care of Daisy. Never let money change the people around her. Some will come into your life because of your wealth, not because of your heart.”»
Gregory broke down in tears.
It felt as though his late wife had reached across time to protect both him and their daughter one final time.

Leo’s Dream
Five years passed.
Leo grew into an exceptional student, graduating at the top of every class.
Although Gregory had more than enough money to support him, Leo insisted on earning every success through his own hard work.
One evening, Gregory asked,
“What do you want to become when you grow up?”
Leo smiled.
“A doctor.”
Gregory looked surprised.
“After everything that happened… why medicine?”
Leo answered without hesitation.
“Because a dishonest doctor almost destroyed Daisy’s life.”
He paused before continuing.
“I want to become the kind of doctor who saves children instead of hurting them.”
Gregory’s eyes filled with tears.
Ten Years Later
A decade after the day they first met in the park, a graduation ceremony was held at one of the nation’s most prestigious medical schools.
Leo walked proudly across the stage wearing his white coat.
He had graduated first in his class.
Gregory and Daisy sat in the front row, applauding with overwhelming pride.
After the ceremony, Leo walked straight toward them.
He embraced Gregory tightly.
“Ten years ago,” Leo said, “you gave me a home.”
Gregory smiled warmly.
But Leo continued,
“The truth is… you gave me much more than that.”
“You gave me a future.”
Gregory placed a hand on his shoulder.
“And you saved my daughter long before you began saving your patients.”
