And with each passing week, the chances of finding him alive rapidly diminished. In the spring of 2018, almost 9 months after the active search was called off, the case of Eric Woods’s disappearance reappeared in police reports.
The reason was a chance discovery by tourists. Discovery of the knife. Two residents of a neighboring county who were exploring abandoned mines in a former mining area stumbled upon a metal object.
It was an old mine with a collapsed entrance and numerous pieces of debris inside.
