“Ma’am, you will remain silent.”

I approached the front.
“Your Honor, I apologize for the delay.”

I took a breath.
“Because their father has told them I abandoned our home and cannot support them.”
Julian shifted in his chair.
I continued.
“He also told them they would soon be living with him and Ms. Sardis.”
The judge looked toward Julian.
Then arranged for the boys to wait in an appropriate supervised area outside the courtroom.
I kissed their foreheads.
“Everything will be okay.”
Oliver nodded.
Owen hugged me tightly.
Then they left.
I turned back toward the judge.
And took my seat.
Julian’s attorney began speaking.
He described my supposed lack of income.
My absence from public business activities.
My years at home.
And my alleged dependence on Julian.
He claimed I had no meaningful role in the company.
