Carol Anne Voss died in Bingmpington on March 4th, 2027 at the age of 82, 6 months after her visit to Tower Junction.
Her obituary in the Bingmpington Press and Sun Bulletin written by a staff writer who had covered her story for the past year, noted that she had maintained an open case file for 52 years, attended it with the discipline of a professional and the devotion of a mother, and had lived long enough to hold its resolution in her hands.
It noted that she was survived by no children. It noted that she had donated her son’s field notebooks to the Cornell University Library [music] where they were accessioned into the natural history collections under the heading Voss Daniel Aldrich 1948 to 1974.
It noted that she had asked in her will for no funeral service, only a small gathering of friends at the Bingmpington Library, where she had worked for 27 years in the reading room where the atlases were kept, with the good afternoon light coming through the south-facing windows.
