Chapter 1 – What I Believed for Eighteen YearsI spent eighteen years calling my wife a coward for abandoning our son. Then I unfolded the letter she’d written before she disappeared, and I realized the whole story I’d been telling myself was only ever half the actual truth.

Chapter 3 – What We Chose to Carry ForwardToday, Corinne has become a genuine part of our lives. She comes to Sunday dinners, attended Teddy’s graduation ceremony, filled our home with stories about the mother he’d never actually gotten to know himself. Mrs. Feldman remained family too, through all of it. Forgiving the two of them took real time. Understanding Junie herself took even longer than that.

I no longer think of her only as the woman who once walked away from her own newborn son. I think of her instead as a frightened young mother who genuinely believed becoming the villain was the very last gift she could actually give us. She was wrong about that. But she loved us completely, regardless. And after eighteen long years, Teddy and I finally knew enough of the truth to properly grieve her, instead of simply hating her.
