Campers Vanished In 1998—10 Years Later 1 Returned WITH A TERRIFYING TRUTH

“And Travis… we found evidence that somebody else made it farther into the canyon.”

Travis looked up.

“Colby?”

The detective did not answer immediately.

Instead, he placed a sealed evidence photograph on the table.

It showed an old metal pencil case recovered beneath the floorboards of an abandoned hunting shelter.

Inside were pages written in Colby Harrington’s handwriting.

And on those pages, Colby had written what he believed about Travis before he died.

Part 3
Travis stared at the photograph.

For several seconds, he seemed unable to speak.

“Can I read it?”

The detective placed copies of the preserved pages before him.

The originals were already being processed as evidence.

Travis’s hands shook as he began.

Colby’s handwriting was weaker than Travis remembered.

Uneven.

Faint.

But it was his.

The notes had apparently been written during his escape in July 2006.

Colby described the storm.

His exhaustion.

His fear that Bennett would find him.

Then he wrote about Travis.
