After ten years of miscarriages, we finally had our miracle baby girl

And they left a card on the side with a number on it for afterwards, and a leaflet, and the envelope came the following morning.

And in the November of 2019 somebody from that unit rang me, because they do, at eight months.

And I said we were doing fine and thanked her and got off the telephone in about ninety seconds.

And in the March of 2020 a letter came about a thing they run — a group, four evenings — and I put it in the recycling without showing Saul.

That is the one.

Because he would have gone. I know that now with complete certainty; he went to one on his own in 2021 and told me in the January.

And in the March of 2020 a letter came to our house about it and his wife binned it before he came in.

What I said in 2019.

Four days after. In our kitchen at Welmere.

He started a sentence. I do not know what the whole of it was going to be, because I did not let him finish it, and he has never told me.

It began: “When I was in with her—”

And I said: “Saul. I can’t.”

And he said: “No. Course.”

And that was the whole exchange and it took about six seconds.

And he never started that sentence again.

Six years, three houses, two more losses, and a man did not once attempt to tell his wife about twenty minutes in a room.

Because of six seconds in a kitchen in the March of 2019.

And the thing I have said to about nine people over ten years, which I have only recently heard properly.

***We lost six.***
